Words like “doll” and “boy’s room” imply the genre is a kid’s movie and the setting is in a home. There’s humor in it too when you think about a doll having a sort of mid-life crisis. The cowboy represents the past and the spaceman is the future – this creates a deeper conflict where the past (like people as they get older) desperately wants to stay relevant.Īlso, the cowboy isn’t just threatened and jealous, he’s “ profoundly threatened and jealous” adding that internal conflict and upping the stakes even more. The spaceman, like Goliath who relies on his superior size, relies on space-age technology. The cowboy, like David with his slingshot, uses old, inferior technology. Obviously from Toy Story, the conflict in this logline is between the cowboy and the spaceman (David and Goliath, respectively). Earlier this year, it was revealed that filming on Obi-Wan Kenobi series would be delayed until next year, as Joby Harold has been brought in to rework the script. I know, I know Star Wars: The Force Awakens was so amazing we can’t wait for the next one. At last years D23 Expo, Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy and Ewan McGregor announced that a new Star Wars series featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi would be coming to Disney+.
